*Campaigned for, and realized the designation of Boko Haram and Ansaru as Foreign Terrorist Organizations, FTO, by the US government, going against serious and strong opposition both within the bureaucracy and among well-funded public intellectuals and academics.
*Become a voice of Nigerian Christians in the US speaking for the voiceless especially regarding terrorism attacks against our brethren and other innocent people.
*Advocating a more positive vision for Nigerian-Americans here in this country, in proactive and responsive ways in the media and through other fora. For instance in October 2013 at the peak of the Obamacare rollout controversy, got Senator Ted Cruz to offer an apology regarding his disparaging comments made against our community.
*Established the Top Ten CANAN Awards and held the inaugural edition in Sept. 2013 celebrating high flying Nigerian-Americans who are noted for their excellence and feats in the larger American society.
*Held our first Annual Gala in Sept. 2013 hosting distinguished dignitaries like US Representative Peter King, United Nations Funds for Population Activities, UNFPA Boss, Prof. Babatunde Osotimehim, Nigerian Ambassador to the US, Prof. Ade Adefuye, former UN Special Envoy, Ambassador Ibrahim Gambari, former World Bank Vice President, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, among others.
*Liaising with US government agencies, including White House and the US Congress on issues of critical importance to our community, including Immigration reform and co.
*Launched and is now disbursing a $50,000 Relief Fund for victims of Boko Haram terrorism, and that Fund is the most active and formal Fund so far for those victims.
*Been featured on international, American and Nigerian media including CNN, BBC, ABC, AP, Reuters, Christianity Today, Christian Post, WorldMag, The Guardian, Thisday, Leadership, Vanguard, NAN, Nigeriavillagesquare.com, Saharareporters, and several other media outlets
